I basically finished the program, but had some issues with depression and anxiety (with 2 disabled children and a husband in college that is entirely understandable). So I started on a medication that made me gain a huge amount of weight.. more than I lost actually.
I ended up much more than I started in fact.
This is how the whole thing worked.
I started LA weight loss at 251 lbs. I started the program and lost to 170 lbs. I got on medication and within 6 months, I was 285 lbs.
The program DOES work. It really does. But you need to be aware of external forces that work against the effort.
I got a Gastric Bypass since I couldn't afford to start all over and, being older, it was becoming very dangerous for me at that weight. I had the surgery last June (2005) and am now 150 pounds and 5 months (unexpectedly) pregnant. I lost a total of 130 pounds with the surgery.
I recommend the LA Weightloss program, I found it extremely stable and nutritionally viable. As an RN that is a major consideration in my mind.
And now you know the REST of the story!

(I hope that I didin't disappoint you with needing to use a more invasive approach toward losing weight then just the LA program. I've often regretted that wasted time and effort and money.)
