I did lose 14 pounds on this, but I can't find anything to eat, so I just don't bother. I have the Adkins book, with recipes. I have found these ingredients difficult to find or extremely expensive.

I'm really trying, with this low carb diet. It does work. I find myself eating meat, I cooked with my George Foreman Grill and salad. I feel deprived! I'm starving to death! My 14 pounds dropped quickly, but stopped. I still have a few to go.

Has anyone else had a problem finding something to eat, that isn't expensive or difficult to find or time consuming types of food? I feel like I'm living on bunny food, with meat!

Personally, I would advise against following the Atkins diet strictly. There's nothing wrong with following a low carb diet so long as you're eating enough carbs to enable you to function properly. Yes, you will loose weight, but at what cost to your health?

A healthy balanced diet is the key, combined with plenty of exercise. Sensible lifestyle changes are the best, safest and healthiest way to loose weight not going on faddy diets for a short period of time. The lifestyle changes must be things that you are able to maintain for the rest of you life such as a balanced diet and suitable exercise regeme.

Don't forget to give yourself a treat once a week though!

I agree with thebigGfella, i personally have tried these diets and as soon as you go off them you gain everything back and more, eating a balanced diet and exercise is the safest and best way to loose & keep it off, another trick is never eat after 7pm, and reward yourself once in awhile with something you love.

I also agree with Bigfella - a low carb diet may be ok for awhile if you are someone who eats way too much carbs - like bread, pastry and cookies - but eating low carb over the long term is not a good idea. Carbs are essential, and eating lots of mass produced industrial meat is definitely not healthy!

Balance is the best way to lose weight and stay healthy.

all the best
Linda
