I remember reading in a magazine not to long ago that according to some weight loss stidues, people who excercise and maintain a low-fat diet, while consuming a fair amount of caffinated products, may slighty enhance weight loss.
Caffine can increase your heart rate because of effects on the nervous system. The amounts used in weight control studies have been significant-equal to about 6 cups or so of coffee. But, the kick from the caffine doesn't significantly increase metabolism. Nor does it result in a great loss of body fat. Also remember that large amounts of caffeine can cause jitters, insomnia, elevated blood pressure and irritability.

Where I run into trouble is that I have my caffeine (coffee) with lots of sugar and cream. Or in the form of cappucinos. So that will keep me from losing weight.
