We're building a sunroom and it's going to get a lot of...sun! Will more sunlight make the carpet have a shorter life? Will it discolor the carpet, like it does non-UV PVC pipe? Finally, is there a kind of carpet you would recommend for the sunroom?

It's probably mainly gonna be my mom sipping tea and reading books. It's pretty big, but she won't let my dad put a TV in it so he'll probably chill out in the den. We come into the house another way, so there won't be a lot of traffic or dirt.

Here's a website that may help you choose the best type, etc. of carpeting for your sunroom.

I think all carpets fade to some extent in the sunlight. What you might consider is sunroom shades. If your mom is going to be reading in the sunroom the UV rays of the sun can be very damaging.
