My metal clothes line pole has a crack in it from where the pole has bent slightly over time. It's probably about 3 inches long and about 1/4 inch wide. What could I use to fill up this crack before painting the pole? Bees have been building nests inside, and I need to fill the crack up with something or another. So if someone could please tell me what would work, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks Smile

Well in case anyone else is interested:

There are products called liquid weld which are specifically designed for pipes, they are two part systems that require mixing just prior to use and can be spread on and into a crack in most pipes. There are limits to its use in water and pressured gas lines, most bond to any metal yet are only supposed to be a temporary fix for waterlines and I would suggest not using them for natural gas/propane lines.
