I have always been told by a few people that it is not wise to run your dishwasher and clothes washing machine at the same time. They claim that your dishes won't get clean, and it may mess up your dishwasher. Is that true? I would love to run them at the same time so I can save time, but I have been too afraid to try it. confused confused confused

I don't know if all diswashers work like mine, but it fills with water, then washes the dishes just like the washing machine. In other words, it is not constantly drawing water from your household system.

The problem others have described to you probably has to do with a drop in water pressure at one faucet when another is opened. Your dishwasher should be self-contained and this should not be a problem. (I think.)

The only way there could be a problem is if they were both on the same electrical circuit, and that is very, very unlikely...All that would happen , would be a fuse ( or breaker) would blow...
Don't worry, GO FOR IT KIDDO...... razz wink

Angela:

I have been an Electrician/Engineer for 55-years & have never heard of a problem in running both of the cited machines at the same time.

As long as you have ample water pressure your dishwasher & washing machine should do quite well when running at the same time.

Even though you may have the both of these machines on the same circuit, however unlikely, they would not blow a fuse or Circuit Breaker(C.,B) provided the fuse or the C.B. are of the proper size.

Circuits are not an issue. They are on separatly. Water pressure should not be an issue either. I think I will give it a try.
