Once the new person answered, there were quite a few clues, not the least of which was the **** (insert Yiddish word here) used the same last name as the original poster. I think we can safely assume that Andrew is not in the Research and development division of that company.

I don't think so, Bedstor. He still used the word 'tub'. It's just not a term that is used in the UK to describe a bath.
Those two word made me suspicious originally.

As for your links:

a Signalmans Cabin?No?

No. It's a signalman's hut

quote:
A site cabin?

Nope. It's a workman's hut, or perhaps a site hut.

or this?

Again, not a cabin in the UK. It's an outdoor toilet in the UK, or perhaps an outdoor privy. Here in Canada, and I think, North America generally, we'd call it an outhouse. (Some people, rather peculiarly, I think, enjoy outhouse calendars. Smile )

quote:
My money says if they wanted to renovate a cabin(anywhere in the UK) these will be on top of the list

Again not a cabin, but a beach hut.
Terribly expensive, if you can find one. Big Grin

I can think of an instance where the word 'cabin' is used in the UK, and that is to describe a part of a boat. I'm sure there are others.

Anyway, as already said, Gabriel has done nothing for his business, or the walk-in-bath tub industry in general.
Even before he posted the ad, there weren't any positive comments about that type of bath.

Oh boy...I cannot BELIEVE the amount of spam I get at work (through a secure server no less), wanting me to...ummm...pump up the volume, is the tamest way I can describe it. At least 20 emails a day. Considering I send each and every one to the "block sender" list, and CONTINUE to recieve dozens per day, I can't even imagine how many people out there get their jollies doing this.

I don't know if you guys across the pond see the commercials on TV for "Make $5,000 a DAY from home!!!!!!!!" Well, these people that are doing all they can to make our lives miserable with spam in our inboxes, and posting their stupid ads at forums like these, work for those people...

I can't imagine making my living that way Roll Eyes

No. They wouldn't be allowed. Some goods and services cannot be advertised on TV at all and others are not allowed because they do not pass the tests to stop misleading advertising. One like that would fail the latter and may, in any case, fall under the former.

Some advertising in the US does seem odd to us. There are adverts for prescription drugs on TV and in newspapers and magazines: 'Ask your physician whether...'.The doctors here get more than enough advertising from drug companies as it is, without us, who know nothing, pestering them as well Smile No prescription drug may be advertised to the general public here.

Oh boy I wish it were like that here! I see no value in paying millions of dollars for commercials for meds that can only be prescribed by a physician.

If your physician is good, he'll know the latest - after all, the pharmaceutical companies are deluging him as well!

No wonder our drug prices are so high here! Roll Eyes

It seems odd to us here in Canada, as well. One can easily tell if one is tuned to an American, rather than a Canadian, TV station here, by the number of commercials for prescription drugs. And of course, each commercial comes with a warning at the end of it, about not taking the drug if one suffers from this or that, or experiences any of a long list of symptoms having taken the drug. The warnings are almost as long as the commercials themselves. After all litigation cuts into the drug company's profits. Eek
Many Americans buy their prescription drugs from Canada, where prices are lower.
