I have one but I am also experiencing a slow drain in the tub. My hair loves to fall out! What can I use to clear the drain that won't kill my septic tank?

Don't ever put drain cleaning chemicals into your plumbing... it's a mess and so unnecessary and ineffective. This little thing works great on hair in a drain and costs less than $10 and isn't harmful for plumbing or the environment. I've used mine for years.

Try the mechanical way first. If this is a tub drain and the stopper is a handle controlled “Pop-Up” you should be able to easily pull the stopper out along with its linkage. This is where hair usually stops up the drain.

If not, back to square one and ami’s way.

After you get it cleaned out, they sell a hair trap screen that goes over your drain so you can easily clean it at the end of your shower/bath.

That zipit thing sounds great, Ami. How do you get past the bar-thingies in the drain near the top that are to stop big objects going down? Is the zipit able to just squeeze through?

It worked! It is less than $3 and no chemicals involved! I recommend it.

Bab - I struggled a little at the top but realized it was my hair that was causing the hold up. It is thin and about 1/2 wide so it did fit down the drain nicely. I even have the kind that you push down to plug the drain and it slid underneith it quite easily!
