I'm in the market for area rugs for the master bedroom and living room. Both rooms are used daily. Will a chenille rug hold up to regular traffic? Will the sheen last?

I had a small one in the guest bathroom (not used every day) and it pilled like crazy!! Chenille as a whole (robes and stuff) is very prone to pilling.....wouldn't recommend it...
