I painted my kitchen and family room about about a year ago with semi gloss latex paint I would now like to change the colour and repaint. To change to eggshell finish do I have to sand the walls or anything? I'm thinking the new finish might not adhere to the semi gloss. Does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks.

Saffy123 ,although I am not an expert , I would apply first a coat of flat white paint ,before any color or texture you want to use.I have done a lot of painting for myself and family ,and it was always how I did it.

Use the same brand of paint and the same type (latex or latex emamel)and you/'ll have no trouble...Kitchen was it ?? Make sure to de-grease it( wash it ) so the fresh paint will adhear....
