Never mind - I found what you need: F 5 = Latch Subsystem Failure. Check for proper latch movement, switch actuation, and clearance between the latch and door. E0 = Latch switch does not agree with door switch (i.e. Iatch in locked position with door open). E1 = Latch will not lock. E3 = Loss of ground or L1 to N is reversed. Check to make sure that the voltage from L1 to ground is 120-volts AC.E5 = Self-clean temperature set point is not reached within the required time range (usually 30 - 45 minutes). E7 = Latch will not unlock. Kitchenaid Consumer Services Failure Codes and Wiring Diagrams This is an adobe document.

Based on Georgia's notes and looking through the manual a bit, I imagine that what you have is a bad door sensor. These are the things that go out on appliances more than other items because they get used via the opening and closing of the door so much. It could be the humidity that is affecting the sensor on the hot days or it could in fact be the overload on your electric, but that seems unlikely to me.
Call a service company in your area and see what they can do. The major appliance stores in your area should be able to direct you to a licensed service company. My experience is that things like this will generally cost about a hundred bucks. If it is a wiring problem then you have a more serious problem... but if it has worked right in the past and works at times then the likelihood that it is a loss of ground is very low.
