A lot depends on what kind of an appraisal you are getting. If it is for tax, you do not want to increase your home’s value. If you are trying to sell it or loan value, this will be based on number of rooms. Bed & bath rooms. If it has a full formal dining room or just a room off the kitchen. What the market in your area is. Similar homes selling in your area. Floor plan square footage. You can have a 3 bed room 2 ½ bath on 2000 sq. ft. This would be small.
House and grounds should be in good repair. No noticeable problems.
They don’t really care how good of a house keeper you are, but it does not hurt to have a neat, clean appearance.
How old is the roof and furnace/air conditioner. If is time for replacement, he may knock down the value.
How big is the lot size? What is the neighborhood like? Schools etc. Do you have you own fire department-police department etc.?
They only way I found to increase the value is additions like garage, family room, bed rooms etc. and sometimes swimming pools. A note here. Sometimes pools detract from the home salability but increase the value. They don’t want the bother.
There are a lot of items that will set the value of your home. Is there anything you can do to increase the value in two weeks? I don’t think so.
Now, if you going to sell the home, that’s a different story. Now we are looking at the obvious. Painting and decorating. Don’t over do it as the potential buyer may not like your style and this will deter them. A well maintained appearance is the best. This will show off your home at it’s best and they won’t feel that they have to do a lot of work before they move in.
Curb appeal that you hear about is a big plus. Home sell better in the late Spring early summer when outside looks it’s best.
Hope this helps.

Any other suggestion out there?

Hi. If you are trying to raise the value to sell, there are a lot of little things you can do. First, if any room needs painted, paint. Repair any visible nail holes, cracks, or chips in the walls. For some reason, ceiling fans increase the value. Adding trim along the windows, base boards along the floors, crown molding in the corners and ceiling, can all add value. For the outside: Repair any peeling or chipping paint. Do a little landscaping. Add some flower beds or borders. Make sure your lawn is neat and tidy. Hope some of this helps!!
