I am installing a shower in my basement. I have the stall up to the point where I have the drywall up. I'm looking for a simple set of instructions on how to proceed.

I understand I need to pour concrete for a "curb" into the shower, then install the liner, pour concrete sloping down to the drain, install wonderboard, tile and be satisfied.

Can anyone elaborate to someone who has never done this before?

Do you have a Home Depot in your area ??? They have a great deal of books on "how to"....I'd pop in there and see if they do...Also, you might be able to buy a ready made base and go from there....Good luck...

you should be able to buy the base and set it over the drain with a seal kit. it should have came with the enclosure. if not make sure you have the measurements for your enclosure and as per previouse answer go to home depot, menards, etc. and see what they have. good luck, they are great for visiting inlaws.:)

I agree with donrent about home depot books. They also have free workshops that show you step by step how to do your project. Even if its not for this project you might consider using the workshops in the future. They are very helpful. Lowes is helpful too.

I now have a fully functional shower in my basement and all is well. I was having a problem visualizing how the liner sealed against the drain. It turns out that I was sold the wrong drain. Once that was figured out (thanks Home Depot!), everything was smooth sailing.

Pouring the concrete and getting it to slowly slope towards the drain was a bit of a challenge, but it's working.
