Hi. I am redoing my son's room. I have just finished patching the holes, taping the cracks, ect. Now that I have did all that, I have sanded everything smooth and cleaned up. My problem is that no matter how I wipe down the walls, I can't remove all the dust from the joint compound I have used. I have tried dry cloths, tack cloths, very slightly damp cloths. Will I still be able to paint over this? I will be using a primer first. Thanks twinhearts
The dusting off you are getting is the "Chalking" from the filler compound. This is why you need to prime before painting. I will seal the surface and help the paint stick better.
