Bela Fleck (of the Flecktones) has an unusual guitar with a couple of extra frets at the head for the low strings only. This is a rather interesting idea. Does anybody know if this guitar is commercially available?

'fuse, I've only seen him play banjo and he claims that to be his instrument. Are you perhaps thinking of Future Man, the group's percussionist who plays an instrument of his own invention?

Although Bela is known for his banjo playing, he occasionally plays a guitar (using, I might add, somewhat of a banjo style). By the way, that is an excellent link!

you might want to check the local music scene here to see if he's playing. He often turns up at various clubs and other venues.
