Go to the website
www.musicteachers.co.uk and go to the search page, type in the search word Newmarket and leave the box showing area as UK and one of the names that appears , Miss Sarah Hickmott, is of a teacher who is in Newmarket itself (proved by the postcode she gives , checked on 192.com

). How's that?

Another site
www.uk-piano.org lists teachers. The nearest they had were one in Ely, about 13 miles north, some in Cambridge itself, about 14 miles west, and Bury St Edmunds, just down the dualled, fast, A14, 13 miles east.Of course, if by 'just outside' you mean somewhere like Soham then Ely could be almost as easy.
It was surprisingly difficult to find teachers through the press. The Newmarket Journal, the Cambridge Evening News and the Bury Free Press had no ads from piano teachers at all. I couldn't get an Ely paper.
Hope this works. If not, post again and I'll try further options or give more information.
Welcome to AnswerPool. Glad to see that you put Newmarket,
Cambridgeshire and don't hold with this local government stuff about it being in Suffolk

Indeed, for us Cambridgeshire (and many Newmarket folk ) it is in Cambridgeshire yet: one racecourse is in Cambs and the other mostly is, the big handicap is, and always was, called 'The Cambridgeshire Handicap', not 'The Suffolk',the Post Office gives it a Cambridge postcode and most of the villages nearby are in Cambridgeshire. What more proof do you need ?
