My friend just bought a guitar with a small amp. i got freaked out cuz i thought the amp was gonna make the guitar sound like blink 182 or mxpx, but it just made the guitar sound louder. the sound wasnt "rusty" like you would hear in a rock bands guitars, his guiar a squier start. so i was just wondering how do you get a guitar to sound like blink 182 or something is it the amp, the guitar or is it that the sounds are tweaked in studios or something.please answer cuz im gonna get a amp soon and i want my guitar to sound link blink 182 and mxpx, not something that sounds like an acoustic thats super loud.

many amps come with dials that you can adjust to vary the sound of the guitar,
if that does not change it enough, you can use foot pedals, that create different kinds of alterations to the sounds, which is probably what blink 182 uses.
Different pedals do different things, like reverb, chorus, echo, distortion, etcetera,

Go to the gift shoppe and look under music at the Musicians Friend Store. Look for a "Line6POD". I have one and I haven't turned on my amplifier in over a year. This box emulates 32 Amps X 4 different cabinet setups, it has vibrato,distortion,delay,backwards delay, chorus,flanger,acoustic amp, and a really good leslie sound to it. I seriously doubt that there are many sounds it can't produce.
