I have two older grandchildren in their early twenties now. For the last seven years they have gotten it into their heads that we want pictures of them for christmas. Well, one picture would be okay but last year it was up to five pictures from each of them all framed. I don't have enough wall or shelf space for all of them without eliminating the other members of the family. How do I tactfully tell them ENOUGH WITH THE PICTURES!

Geesh, Judy... that's a toughie. I'd un-frame them and put them into a scrap book or photo album. If they come to visit you, you can show them the album.
You still have their pictures (in a more managable format) - so how can they be upset with you?

No need to tell 'em anything at all. Every year, pick one from the latest batch and display it. All the others - without exception, and including the old ones - go in boxes in the attic or the closet. Never have more than one picture of each showing in your house at any time.
If and when they question you about it, express amazement that they have not seen the logic and fairness of what you are doing. Let them figure out for themselves, eventually, that they are sending too many pictures.

Judy, I don't have a good answer that you could say without hurting their feelings. However, I have a thread here in the Discussion Room about, 'How can you not hurt feelings', and I got some good answers. Why don't you read it and see if anything in it can help you. They think you are appreciating all these pictures so whatever you say will probably hurt their feelings.

Just tell them that you are running out of room, and if they want to give newer pictures, you will put the older ones into keepsake photo albums and reuse the exsisting frames.

I would take the picture from the following xmas put that into a photo album then put the new picture on the wall. This way you display the new picture and will not hurt their feelings. But you may want to mention to them there is no need for new picture frames, unless you have something else you would like to do with them. N2
ask them to email you the pictures, as many as they want, and you can print off the ones you like, and keep the rest on the computer. also, scrapbooking them is an awesome idea. just be careful.. scrapbooking can become an all consuming hobby.
