When you do something little for someone such as holding a door open for them or moving when you're in their way or letting them borrow a pencil and they don't express any gratitude (or don't say thanks for your time if that's all you offered), do you begin forming an assumption that they're ungrateful or disrespectful or that they don't like you?

Sometiems I wonder if I show the person enough gratitude or if it sounds sincere enough and then I wonder what other people expect from just little things like this.

I usually think their mind is just someplace else.

You know, when you are deep in thought, and maybe you just forget to voice gratitude?

But then again, I tend to give the benefit of the doubt

Yeah, that makes sense. I was thinking it too.

Jusork, it's definitely not that they don't like you because they would do everyone the same. I'm sure they like somebody. Smile

I think it's more disresptful than anything else. A person can be very grateful for something but still shows no respect.
