Have you ever had the feeling to just pack up and move? Not just move locally, but move to another city, even another state.

There are no family ties or obligations where I am currently living.

What questions should I ask myself in deciding if I should relocate and start fresh?

Well, if you have kids you might want to know about the schools. Also about crime rate, housing cost, and over all cost of living. I do not know what your financial situation is, but we were discussing that subject in the chat room last night. Average rent is around 300 dollars here for a 2 bedroom apartment. But you can quadruple that in California, and Nevada, especially Vegas.
I would also check out citysearch.com
Good luck Smile

soda, if you are running from problems, they will follow you where ever you go. If you want to move because you want to be closer to someone or something, that's a good reason to move. But please don't move because you think that problems will go away if you leave a certain place....they always find you....where ever you go.

Sheesh Angela! My dad was asking me the other day if I new what the cost of living in Vegas was, I had no idea it was so expensive Eek

I think the first things to consider are...can you get a job right away, and find affordable housing, so you can hold on to your savings and spend it slow, as need arise.

I just did that very thing, soda...I moved from Texas to California to live with my boyfriend. Left behind my two grown children, and my 80 year old mother.
The change in cost of living has been the biggest culture shock.
And the unemployment rate.
I'd do some online checking into that before you pack your bags.
I agree with the questions the others have recommended, I just wanted you to know that there was someone else here who did what you're considering.

And I couldn't be happier!

I think to properly answer your question, I would have to ask why you're thinking about leaving where you currently are? Why the need for a fresh start? Should I assume you are unhappy where are now and I don't just mean geographically.

change could be just the right thing for you... or not. You have to decide that.

I think you might want to look into some options and research them. Then go for a visit before you start making arrangements. You don't want this to be too fresh of a start Wink

And once you pick a place you should post questions here because there are people from just about everywhere on here.

Good luck!
