Actually, Ron, I totally agree with Giz that I was absolutely impressed with your post; I also felt it was the best one I ever saw you post.

Kudos on a job well done, Ronshay.

Doug... you should break up with your girlfriend.

My opinion - because you are the one that is immature and can't decide what you want and need and don't know how to communicate yet. Get out in the world and date... If you've been dating someone since you were both 14 and you aren't sure what's going on then you need to move on. High school sweethearts are most often divorced after less than 5 years.

It doesn't even really sound like you like this person anymore.

aminator is right. what happens a lot of times with High School sweethearts is they are eachothers firsts. First as in a couple. A lot of times they get scared. So they get into a space of confortability and they feel safe.
I don't know you from Adam, but I think thats whats going on here.
Everyone needs to explore other relationships, especially in your situation.
Like that old saying goes, If you truly love someone, let it go, and if it comes back to you, then it was meant to be, or something like that.

Seriously explore other posibilities.

Your heavy concern about her maturity has struck a nerve. Elexina and aminator have spoken well.

A true friend and / or real love never asks a person to do something that he or she feels is wrong or is uncomfortable doing. You are attempting to absolve yourself of any and all responsibility’s or commitment by placing a heavy burden on not only her shoulders..but her heart as well.

The heavy burden I’m talking about is YOUR attempts to make her feel immature and insignificant by comparing her with yourself and others to get your way. Your actions have more to do with control and insecurity than love. Belittling her feelings is verbal abuse.
