My parents are in the middle of a divorce and the trial to end it all or whatever is next week. My mom has a guy friend (not a boyfriend) who stays here sometimes, and to do so he pays my mom each month and does work around here. However, I don't like him and therefore I told my psychologist about him, and now the court wants to have her testify at the trial. So if she says yes, the guy does live with them sometimes, my mom might not get the money she would have originally gotten. I know I can't get my doctor to lie-but when I see her tomorrow, what can I do to prevent the court from hearing this information? I don't want my mother to hate me and she will if she ends up losing. Please help me if you can.

Evidentally, the court already knows this information or they'd not be interested in having your psychologist testify about it...This may be a violation of your right to confidentiality in your relationship with your psychologist and on those grounds, you may be able to prevent her testimony, contact the American Medical Association to find out the ethical obligation that applies here.
However, there is no valid reason why a part time boarder and handyman should have any effect on your parent's divorce settlement agreement any more than a more conventional roommate situation would, and if it does have an effect, that would be your mother's own doing for creating a situation that worked against her and if she blames you, she's dead wrong.
All my best.

I concur with Mrs. S. on this.

Cheers and Chin-up
