I hope I'm posting this in an appropriate area. I was going to post in geneology but I'm not looking for someone I'm related too.

After you do all the normal things, ie; google, yahoo people search, classmates.com etc. Where do you go or what would you do to find someone you're looking for when all those other things don't produce any results?
I'm looking for a friend that I knew when I was a kid...I did find her married name and where she went to school and college, but it dead ended from there.
Is there a way to find out what websites someone frequents?

it is difficult first of all to post a name, madien, married or otherwise and ask 'are you there'

Since you are not totally dark on this one and have the persons details of married name and school, you are ahead of the game. Now that you know the name and last location, you could try websites in the town/city that this person was last located or even post an ad in the local newspaper of the location known in the section 'looking for'... you never know, someone just may know that person that you are looking for.

If you have the college name, I would also contact the registrar at that college.

Another way is reverse telephone number look-up

hope this helps

It does help...I never thought about the local newspapers online. I will give that one a shot and let you know how it turns out. Thanks janus Smile

Broaden your search-find her parents or siblings, contact her high school and ask who organized the last reunion, look up any alumni groups she may belong to from her college, hit classmates.com again and contact a few of her classmates and ask if they've heard from her or are still in touch.
Good luck

Good idea MrsS Smile Thanks. I know her parents live close to me but I don't want them or her, to think I'm stalking her or something. It seems that most are pretty easy to find for me on the internet, but this one has got me. I just don't want to be too invasive if she doesn't 'want' to be found or something.
I will try out your ideas.

janus, the first link you gave me is for Austriala (sp??) and I couldn't get anywhere from there but the second link is awesome! I had no idea there were so many different sites out there like that. I saved it too my favs so I can use it whenever. Smile Thanks!

Looking up her parents is probably the least"stalkerlike" option- as long as you don't camp on their lawn or call each and every day, I promise they won't feel wierd about a childhood friend wanting to reconnect.

Pup, if you click on the people search link next to where you see 'Australia,' it'll take to you to US and general. I think Janus just accidentally posted the Australia page.

Totally agree that finding family members (parents are the easiest because they tend to stay put, list their phone numbers and then answer their phones without screening) is the best approach. I've done it and have had others find me that way as well.

Thanks you guys. After reading your replies I realized how silly what I was thinking sounded.

I found her parents..and I knew they lived right about here anyway, but I did find them pretty easily. I'm going to give them a call tonight Smile
