I had always thought it was "POOL SHARK" or "CARD SHARK", I just read a book and it was "POOL SHARP", did I just not hear right for all those years, do they mean the same thing, or is there a difference?

From what I know it is Pool SHARK and Cardsharp (one word). Cardsharp dates back to 1859 but don't know the origin of it.

So many times we hear words and think they are spelled one way and then we see them in print and realize we misunderstood the pronounciation of them in the first place. But in this instance I might question the editor of the book!

Thanks Georgia, I know what you mean about hearing things wrong, for years I though it was "morning doves" when it was "mourning doves".

You mean it isn't "Morning Doves"??? Better notify Michigan Audubon Association!

Guess they decided to cover their tale feathers by using both words! LOL
