Arrgh! I'm trying remember this specific word that came up a few times in this book. I want to use it in this story I'm writing involving the same plot.

It's something like inemorandem or immorandem. Something with an I at the beginning and a few M's. I think it meant something about humanity that is timeless, a characteristic of our humanity that transcends any age. What is this word? I've given up on finding it in the sea of words of the book and I'm not finding it at all when I try dictionaries, neither forward or backward ones. Or did I maybe misinterpret the word as I read it?
