Puzzling:What are 'specifics'; do you mean a source, if it's a quotation, or some background to it? Don't you have Chinese in Chicago ? A local Chinese restaurant manager should be able to explain it or even translate it into passable English.Wouldn't bet on the waiters though; here they are almost as limited as the cooks the older ones of whom, in London's Chinatown speak no English at all, even now.
Alternatively the Chinese alternative medicine shops are run by educated Chinese here; could be the same in the Windy City.
I showed it to a coworker (co-worker for Fred ) from Hong-Kong. He told me it doesn't make any sense becasue it was incomplete (you can see that there's more writing that got cut off the top). He said it looks like a poem of sorts that would hang on one side of a door, with another one on the other side. He stared at it for a while with a puzzled look, but that's really all I could get out of him. He said that with the rest of it it would probably make sense, but without it it was just gibberish.
