Do Hindi and other Indian languages have the same root as the European languages?

If you go back far enough, yes. Try a web search for language tree for a visual representation of the links between the various languages. On most of the trees, you will find proto-indo-european as the oldest listed, with an early split between the paths to the western European languages and Indian languages.
