What adjective(s) would describe something with a triangular shape ? ***************************************************************** 02-19-03, 01:05 PM Georgia85 Would it be Isosceles?
02-19-03, 01:14 PM Sarai You already said two options:
triangular (He has a triangular face)
triangle-shaped (He gave me a triangle-shaped box)
02-20-03, 09:08 AM maiku Besides those listed above, here are four more: scalene, trilateral, tricorn and wedge-like.
03-04-03, 12:18 PM Elexina Pointy, but flat! Wink I like "wedge-shaped."
-Side question: if it's shape is a triangle, isn't it redundant to say "triangle-shaped"? Oughtn't one say "triangular"?
03-04-03, 01:03 PM cattywampus You're absolutely right, Elexina, and it's also true that "it's" is the contraction of "it is," and not the possessive of anything. You want "its."

03-05-03, 05:45 AM Elexina Oh. Good. Grief. I can't believe I did that! That is one of my pet peeves!! I am soooo ashamed. Mad Hmm... who can I blame that on..? Wink
03-05-03, 09:22 AM cattywampus Many people operate under the erroneous belief that people keep dogs because they're:
1. capable of giving unconditional love
2. no dirtier or smellier than the kids
3. very low maintenance - a bit of homework and some stale water will do them for days.
But actually, the reason we keep dogs is so WE HAVE SOMEONE TO BLAME THINGS ON! ("I didn't fart. It was the dog" is a favorite).

03-05-03, 10:46 AM Ewood27 Ah, Catty, at last I think I see the connection to the question. There are three sides to the stated reasons for keeping a dog! Do I get a prize?
03-05-03, 11:49 AM cattywampus Considering that everything is connected in some way, Ewood, I don't think you are deserving of a prize, but nevertheless I will name you the Official AP Resentative from Surrey! How's that?
03-06-03, 04:49 AM Fourbrick Perhaps "deltoid" would fit the bill.
Incidentally did you hear about the tragedy at the Royal Philharmonic concert? As they were playing the "Bermuda Symphony", the man playing the triangle disappeared. Big Grin
