Many people operate under the erroneous belief that people keep dogs because they're:

1. capable of giving unconditional love

2. no dirtier or smellier than the kids

3. very low maintenance - a bit of homework
and some stale water will do them for
days.

But actually, the reason we keep dogs is so WE HAVE SOMEONE TO BLAME THINGS ON! ("I didn't fart. It was the dog" is a favorite).

Incidentally did you hear about the tragedy at the Royal Philharmonic concert? As they were playing the "Bermuda Symphony", the man playing the triangle disappeared.
