'Winter-only' residents in Ft. Lauderdale or any part of Florida are called Snowbirds.

LOL! This reminds me of the "Taxi" episode with the raging debate over "Delawarians" and Delawarites"

My vote is for "Ft. Lauderdalans"

I think that is what JT is saying -- isn't it...where else do winter-only residents come from (in the broad sense...)?

Dr.mlm I know what snowbirds are, I have been in Florida for 20 years, but it has nothing to do with the original question.Look back. cool

What would you call someone who is a permanent resident of Fort-Lauderdale? (not 4 months a year, but all year long)a native if you want , certainly not a snowbird! Hope it clarifies the ambiguity! How about "albuquerque"?
