I mistyped a site address and Stumbled across www.foreignword.com/ which seems to have the most wide-ranging free translation service going and there's more.
It cross-links to many dictionary and word sites many of which are new to me For a Homework help site this looks good , another Refdesk type site..PS I could not see this listed on www.Refdesk.com Frown
Another candidate for the AP Top 10 lists ? Smile
Could be very useful for a site such as our little world (and DP) Cool

foreignword.com is a good site. Unlike translating boards (e.g., Babelfish), it gives the context in which words are used. I checked it out for French, German, Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese, and was very impressed.

The main translation engine has been discontinued since 2004 Frown

The only down side is that it only translates a word at a time.
