When a verb it used to refer to two thing in a slightly different manner.

E.g. And he said as he hastened to put out the cat, the wine, his cigar and the lamps:
AND
She lowered her standards by raising her glass
Her courage, her eyes and his hopes
[Both from Madeira M'dear]

Thanks!

Zeugma

This was discussed recently. That discussion was about the distinction between zeugma and syllepsis, and whether there really is one.
