My family and I have been visiting courthouses around the state of NC as a sort of project. We visited the Moore County Courthouse in Carthage, NC. On the cornerstone of their old courthouse the following was engraved " AD 1922 and AL 5922 ". The AD 1922 is of course the date the courthouse was built but what does the 'AL 5922' refer to ? I think it might be a literal bible reference (date of creation interpretation) but I'm not sure. If the AL is a latin phrase what does in mean ?

BTW.. it's not the Jewish Calendar. 1922 equals year 5684 on that calendar
