I was surprised to find the jocular UK Term for a friendless unpopular person Called "Billy No Mates" was coined in 1996,(officially) in this Uk Newspaper
I'm quite sure this has been used well before then. My Mom said it and she died in '96!
And a further question what do you call a person like this in your community? I'm sure they aren't Billy No-mates
