Ok this is a little odd, and has only been a problem since I've had my LCD monitor. I can run everything at 1024x768... however, if I try to run it at a lower resolution such as 800x600 it will say no signal (it's out of range). What could be causing this? I am running a Geforce FX 5200 which isn't the newest card out there but I don't want to drop much money for a new one.

This needs a bit of thought
You say that you can't take it down to 800 x 600
Are you doing this via right clicking on the Desktop selecting properties then settings and seeing what the minimum resolution is on the scale (may have to switch to 16 bit color?)
The second option and is fiddly and that is to go into the Control Panel and locate the Nvidia Nview Desktop Manager icon (Green Square)
the Location that alters the resolution is found on the Hot Keys tab
2 things A) This program is always run on mine with the desktop manager disabled
Open the Desktop manager if it appears on the right click list and I saw there was a Custom
resolution setting but... be very careful
May not work! Confused Hence the need more qualified input query from me Roll Eyes
B)You may find that there is a driver listed for your Monitor?(Unknown which Driver site has them) If that is true then install it (Post again with model of monitor and operating system and One of us will search out the location if it exists) and you may get a larger range of resolutions? Wink Only use the customise option if its just out of range And keep the Refresh rate .If flickering occurs then Increase or decrease by 1 setting only
This is really an expert area for settings All I advise is fine tune the Resolution control By 1 notch Only
FYI My computer has 800 x 600 as its minimum runs @ 1028 x768 normally but can Max out @ 1280 x 1024 (no interlacing)
However save you experimenting the settings on the Nvidia Desktop manager run from 248 x 186 to 1280 x 1024 The refresh settings are 60hz to 75hz (Default on mine is 72hz)
And the color quality resolution setup guide is roughly as follows:
8 bit (DOS & Windows 3.1?)(very old games)
Sub 800x pixel resolution
16 bit (older computer)600-800 pixel resolution 32 bit(Win 95-98) (Present day games / utilities)1000+ pixel displays (XP)
PS Snap! I have the same Graphics Card as yourself Small World Smile
