I recently bought a Geforce 6800 128mb. It uses 12 pipelines and i read online that you can unlock 16 pipelines. So i used a program to unlock the extra pipelines. But i read that they could be damaged and if you do you could get artifacts(white snow, texture flashing, and screen flickers) and that if you get these you should disable the pipelines. When i unlocked the pipelines i did extensive test with various games i had. I found no artifacts. Except several hours later the screen flickered once, real quick. This flicker happens maybe every 4-5 hours maybe more. The game runs fine after it. I cant see any graphical problems. The flicker just looks like the monitor shuts on and off really fast. But i still believe it is an artifact. If this is an artifact should i be worried? am i going to damage my card? or could i just ignore this? No other artifacts appear while i play games.
Thanks Dave

That is not the definition of an artifact. That could be any various problem. If the card is not overheating, and you don't notice any immediate problems then you should be fine.
