Thanx Kwll & Tree .... I've got it up and running now - thanks for your help [I've even got 'smell' to the corn-bread slide! Wink ... Now the question is - How do I get this thing to a CD so I can 'take it with me'? [Again - I've read 'google' till my eyes burn and didn't find anything there.] My system is Win98, 2nd ed. with with 3.5 floppy and 2 CD slots - just need some directions.

kloe, I'm assuming you have the capability to write to CDs right? Provided you have one there are a couple of ways to do it. First you will need to format your CD as a data disk so that you can save to it. With your presentation open, you can then go to the "File" menu in powerpoint and "save as" to the drive that has your writeable CD in it. As another method, you can open the folder that contains your powerpoint slides and right click to copy and then paste to the drive icon that your writeable CD is in. Or you can drag the file from that folder to the drive. Any of these will work. Good luck. Btw, you are really a Powerpoint Ranger when you start using animations in your slides! Smile

One piece of advice. After you have burned the CD, try using the CD to run the presentation on a different computer before actually presenting it in public. It usually only happens with video clips, but Power Point does not always put all of the supporting files in the main file. I've seen some embarassed people try to show video clips in their presentations only to discover this too late.

Power Point also has a "pack and go" option which will allow you to run it on any computer whether it has Power Point installed or not.

Howdy:

Or, you can install the PowerPoint Viewer available free from Microsoft on the cd as well.. That way, you only copy the show and run it from the viewer..

I do this with just about every PowerPoint presentation I copy to a cd (and I make a pile of them due to my job). Nothing worse than having a slide show to run and not having anything to run it with !!
