when I copy an item for instance from the internet, and paste it say into 'My Documents'. if afterwards I then try to use my 'Adobe Photo' program, I keep getting a pop up notice saying there is an item in the clipboard that cannot be accessed even though I dont want to use it, its very irritating! how can I empty the clipboard function? at the moment all I can do to empty it is turn my computer off and then restart it. any ideas?

When you copy something to your clipboard, it will remain there until something else is copied which replaces the original item. And, as you pointed out, the clipboard is emptied when the system is restarted.

What I would suggest is that you copy some text when your original copied item is no longer needed.

I hope this helps!

And another suggestion.

The ClipBook Viewer isn't listed in the Accessories folder on the Start menu in Windows XP, so you might want to create a shortcut to it on your desktop:

1.
Right-click your desktop, point to New, and then click Shortcut.

2.
In the location field, type:
C:WINDOWS\system32\clipbrd.exe. (or copy and paste from here)
3.
Click Next to give it a name, then click Finish and you're all set.....can see what is on it and delete if wish in just one click!
