Hi everybody, it's me again with another strange problem. I have Windows XP Prof. this morning I saw a beautiful fall picture on another BB I right cliked on it to save as background and it worked, I now have a beautiful Maple tree in all of it's fall colors. Very very nice. Now if I want to go back to the original picture I had as wallpaper I right clicked on my wallpaper and went to properties then to themes and no where in sight is the nice wall paper that I had before, with Windows XP I only have a few themes and the nice sandy beach that I had before has completely disappered. Is there a way I can find this scene again. Thanks for all you've done for me in the past. You are all wonderful people. LL

Try looking under desktop instead of themes.
You should have several in there. Don't you?

I have XP (not the professional) and mine comes with the maple trees. Very nice scene.Smile

Hi LL

Heres an Idea you can try:
Type Sandy Beach in Google and click on Images I got 27000 hits
Next right-click on an image you like
Look in the second section for the Item called "Set as Background" and click on the link
Though it does look blurry because its blown up many times its original size Looks Ok if you are standing away 2 or 3 feet from the monitor
I wonder If somebody knows how to get say 4 tiles of the scenes into the 1 screen rather than tiling the whole screen Roll Eyes Methinks It's a Registry Tweak job Frown (Beyond my skills sorry Frown) Ok, the images will be smaller but the Focus will be better Wink

I think once you right click on an image off the internet and then set it as your background image you over-ride the previous image you had. The image is usually stored under Documents & Settings>(your user name)>Application Data>Microsoft>Internet Explorer. It will show up as a bitmap image. My guess is you will only have one showing and if you were to double click on it, it would be the maple tree you just saved. There is one other place to look but I seriously doubt it will be there. I doubt you have a WINNT folder but do you have anything similiar to it? There is a sub folder in that labeled Web and then another labeled Wallpaper.

But I'm gonna have to say that you are going to have to search the internet for that picture again. I really don't think you can have more than one internet explorer wallpaper on your computer. Next time you want to set a picture as wallpaper, first right click and then do a "Save Picture As". Once it's saved on your harddrive then you can set it up as wallpaper. Just right click on your desktop, click "Properties" "Background" then under the "Wallpaper" selections hit "Browse" and search your folders for the image you saved.

Organization failed?

Try running a SEARCH: For Windows XP

Click on START, SEARCH In that pop up window you will have the ability to search for 'pictures, music or video - click on that.

check Pictures and Photos then search (No name needed)

It will take a while, but all the pictures on you computer will be found. They will come up as thumbnails so you get a little picture to go by instead of finding a name.

IF the first search does not pull it up it may be in a System file or a Hidden File: Click on "Include Hidden and System Files"

Once you locate the image you want, RIGHT click on it, select properties and you will have the listed location for the image.

If this search does not locate it, then it has been removed from your computer. I am uncertain if an image that you make into your desktop off the web remains in your computer as a permanent file, or only a temp file. I always right click, save target as and put in in My Pictures/DSKTP (A file I created specifically to hold my desktop wall papers)

You were right it was saved as Web/Wallpaper and now what I tried to do is a search for either web or wallpaper and never could I find it again. How odd that if you search for pictures you find the picture and right click on it and can see where it is stored in your hard drive but do a search and cannot find it again.Unless as usual I don't know how to do such a search? Confused

To prevent losing in future files like these I think can be renamed so long as you do not remove the ".JPG" tag Wink
All you do if you mislaid it is type the name of the file into search and it will appear
Bit of caution Do not call a file the same thing throughout,it can confuse the computer and yourself Confused.I have some archived Bookmark files
saved,I have them in the same folder yet I know which is which they are labelled 231004.PFC which says it is a PFC file dated 23rd October 2004 or the American way: 102304.PFC
OK method if you get the message "Save as..." file and you have several files to save
PS IF I have 2 files to save of the same type for the same day and with an Identical file tag I add a letter to the name to avoid confusion thus:
231004.PFC original
231004a.PFC 2nd file
231004b.PFC 3rd file....
Saving them with the same name always overwrites the file with the same name/extension
So If you save this way all you will have left is the last file saved Red Face all the others are erased Frown
