Posted i'm using XP Silver & a very light wallpaper. the default text for the items on my desktop is so light i can't read them until i highlight them. i switched to ClearType; now it just looks sloppy. i want to get rid of the shadows altogether; how do i do that? already changed to NO "show shadows under menus" in Display Properties > Appearance > Effects, but it doesn't help on the desktop. thanks, cake

Welcome to Answerpool BTW In your other Post you Said there is No Preview There is an Editing preview time-out of about 10/15 minutes to see your post and edit it. Post a query on the Information Desk section and Admin will tell you what timing they have set it at As for "Tips" on How to Get the Best out of this site ,and many questions answered We have Compiled this selection which is stuck in this section

cake	Posted Hide Post thanks, bedstor. found i could do an edit, but "preview post" would be still be quicker/easier, IMHO, & no need for edit timeout. just my opinion & experience on other forums (in fact, ALL other forums i'm a member of) that do have "preview post" option. appreciate the info!
