I find myself at a crossroads, faith wise, not knowing which way to go. It is not so much a crisis of faith as a.... not being sure that my current group, of which I am the spiritual leader, still fullfills me. I like the people very much, but spiritually, I have not been getting anything from that group for a while. Additionally, I have made some friends recently from a VERY different faith, and much of that faith appeals to me, which I never imagined.

So... I would appreciate if you could pray for me to get some guidance, or a sign, or even being hit over the head with the blatantly obvious... anything will do Wink

I do not know what path is best for you so I will not pray for any specific thing to happen, but I do pray that whatever will have the best outcome for you will be what happens.

Silja,

Being hit over the head with the blatantly obvious made me giggle. I have a friend who keeps me accountable sometimes when I am making dumb choices, by threatening me with "the baseball bat" meaning tough love. Not sure if that makes any sense in your situation, but thought I would share.

Anyway, you are in my prayers, and I hope you will be lead in whatever way is best.

You are in my thoughts, Silja, and I do hope that you find some direction. ...Hopefully without being smacked upside the head by a bat or a squirrel or anything...

So, I know this topic is quite old, but it seems it took me several spiritual hittings-over-the-head to get it.

And I am now studying to convert to Orthodox Judaism. Yes, quite a change from Wicca, I realise that!

Thanks to all who prayed for me.

Wow, Silja! That's quite a conversion. Good luck and shalom.

Silja, I wish you only the best in your chosen path and truly hope that all works out to you and comes together for you.
May I ask, what made you choose Orthodox Judaism over all the other paths? I am not judging, believe me, I am just curious as to what aspects in particular drew you in.

Blessed be, always.

Big Grin He did it again, gave ya the ol' Holy Ghost whammy, huh? Big Grin

Truly, I thought that you were headed for Christianity. I do hope that this does not mean that you will avoid the New Testament and the Koran.

Many people take the aspects of various religions and apply them to the way they live. You don't have to abandon the beliefs you now have to fit the guidelines of another religion. Be true to yourself. In whatever you choose know that if you can find peace, serenity and a sense of self then you have chosen the right path. That path may lead in more than just one direction. Smile

Blessed Be

Silja: Since Orthodox Judaism seems to me to be quite a radical departure from what you were practicing, I recommend that you visit the website for The World Union for Progressive Judaism. The WUPJ claims to be the largest organization serving Jews. It also seems to modernize what is orthodox so that many orthodox Jews do not accept progressive Jews as being any longer Jewish. Go figure. Anyway, I noticed on the website under "About WUPJ" that there are so shockingly many groups in the UK--and one in Ireland. Visit www.wupj.org

I get it. So As a reformed Pagan you and I have some things in common. Big Grin

Before you panic on this love, just remember that all the things you learned before hand will never be fully unlearned. Much of those things will be part of you forever, don't feel guilty if you find yourself lighting a candle with a bit more intent than just mood lighting, or lighting incense for a bit more atmosphere than just the nice smell.

I believe God understands that you can take the Witch out of the Craft but you can't remove the craft out of the witch. Not totally. Especially if the path has been for love and light - you understand?

What other advise from a Pagan Convert? Be true to yourself and it will follow that you will be True to God. That's all God really wants in the end.

My email is always open if you get a panic attack or something comes up that you just need another ex-pagan to listen to you go on about - Some times it can be scary, most times its thrilling - And of course you will always be learning something new.

I'm happy you are finding a New Path - they are all great paths, the adventure to finding our spiritual self is always good.

David
