10-08-03, 05:00 PM Leppi I spent almost the entire day yesterday at the hospital ( I hate hospitals) I got another holter monitor ( 48 hours this time). I'm getting a balance test, and MRI (including the inner ear, and some bloodwork. Hopefully I'll feel better once my mom gets here. I dunno. I just want to be healthy again. Frown

Bless Your Holy Name, O LORD, for all that You are and for all that You do. Father, You see what is causing Yafa's medical condition. Guide the physicians in knowledge and in wisdom to discover the problem with Your child, Yafa. Let them give her the best treatment to cure her of this malady.
Father, healing is in Your hands, dear Lord. Heal this child of her malady, and grant her health. To God be the glory!

11-18-03, 02:24 PM Georgia85 I'm moving this post back to the top as a reminder for those of you who have added Yafa to your prayer list to keep those thoughts and prayers coming.
I've been chatting with her mother via IMs and I have to say I am more than a little bit worried about Yafa. While no diagnosis has been made yet she tested positive for Babinski Reflex and Clonus Reflex. Both of those are indicative of neurological damage in most cases. Yafa was scheduled to see another Neurologist today. But I understand from her mother that she has sunk into total despair, is stil bed-ridden, has not eaten in days, and even finds no joy in getting on the computer.
I don't know what any of us can do to help her other than pray for her and her mother to find the strength to accept whatever the prognosis is.

Although her name has not been divulged, she has recently been added to a prayer chain.
11-19-03, 08:02 AM Georgia85 I'm sure her family appreciates that Vedere. I spoke with her mother last night. The doctor's appt didn't yield a diagnosis. All that was done was a review of her history and the doctor believes she might have had this neurological problem since birth. As of now, no tests have been planned and he will continue to review her history. It seems like a diagnosis is at a standstill at this time which I know is very frustrating.
11-20-03, 09:17 AM Nechama Thank you Georgia for letting everyone know. Right now Yafa has shut herself off completely from the rest of the world. She has not spoken since Monday, and even on Monday the only time she spoke was to tell me to go away. Right now she just pretends that the rest of the world does not exist and lies down in her bed crying the whole day. At the doctor’s appointment that Georgia mentioned, we had to carry Yafa there. She would not walk. She would not even recognize that we were moving her or that the rest of the world exists. Yesterday when her father called, I put the phone by her ear and she just ignored it. She would not even speak to her father. God willing she will snap out of it soon. Thank you all for your prayers.
11-20-03, 10:16 AM Georgia85 I am so sorry to hear that Nechama Frown I know she is scared but is she feeling any of the effects from neurological damage. Is she in pain or does she sense that something is wrong with her body? I really hate to see her getting so upset when it isn't even clear yet that she has a neuropathy. Is there the slightest possibility that she might not? That would be great news.

11-20-03, 07:41 PM vedere I am very saddened to hear of Yafa's health problems. May Abba Father grant her strength and healing, and may He grant Nechama strength also. It is always difficult to see anybody that you love or care about to be in pain and distress.
My prayer group will continue to pray to our Heavenly Father on Yafa's behalf.
11-20-03, 07:44 PM Nechama I went into Yafa's room about 30 minutes ago and she turned towards me and said 'Imma’ (mother in Hebrew). I went next to her and she just hugged me and cried for about 15 minutes and then she fell asleep. She didn't talk much, but I existed in her world. She is noticing what is going on around her. I am so incredibly happy right now.

Yafa has been in our prayers here since the first report of her falls on the Health Boards.
We are creatures of Four Aspects, Mental, Emotional, Spiritual and Physical. When ever one aspect is ill or injured the others will be affected.
For instance when we have a cold, we are not only affected physically, but we become a bit muddled in our thinking, a bit down in the heart and not as spiritually bright.
We can only imagine the strain of this illness on the heart, soul and mind of Yafa.
Through the progression of this illness and the treatment she will have her ups and downs, it comes with the territory. Unfortunately it is coupled with that flu, bad fall and all of those tests too. All of this is bound to take it's toll.
Yafa's age is a blessing and a curse, a blessing in that she is more resilient; able to bend and roll with the punches, a curse in that for her a month is a very, very long time. All of these things happening in short order is bound to depress anyone.
And how is Nechama? I ask because we tend to forget ourselves when our loved ones are in a bad way, are you getting enough rest, food, and emotional and spiritual support?
Yafa, you and the rest of your family are in our prayers here.
