You may have noticed that it's been peaceful around the Pool for the last few days. That's because DorianGreyed was admitted to hospital last Thursday. (Sorry DG, I couldn't resist that.) I've been told he's looking better, but will need to stay in a while longer for tests.
I'm sure DG would appreciate your thoughts and prayers.
Get well soon DG, it's not the same without your insults! **************************************************** 04-25-05, 05:23 PM juanruiz Hope you're up and about real soon, DG. jr

No Georgia, he went in for that many years ago.
Personally I think that because the doctors have never before had the chance to inspect anyone so old, they are pretending he needs "tests". Either that or they all decided they needed a good laugh. Big Grin
Did I hear right, Fritzzs is being politically correct!!!!!! Eek
04-26-05, 06:44 PM Gin Hope you are well soon, Dorian!
04-26-05, 08:36 PM Georgia85 Karrow, modern medicine has made many advances in technology since DG was brought into this world. Heck, I bet even carbon dating could be used oh him now!
But all joking aside, I would feel terrible if this was something serious so I do send out sincere wishes for a speedy recovery and hope DG will have many more years of good health!

04-27-05, 08:59 PM DorianGreyed Thank you all for the thoughts and prayers. My problems were both cardiac and renal, and things will get better very soon.
And, yes, tsaeb, Karrow is correct. I am the Blessed Swami of Spititual Humanism. (If I send them another $20, they will send me documentation, and a nifty certificate "Suitable for Framing!")
04-27-05, 09:23 PM Professor DG, good to hear from you! You had us worried there for a while. Your heart and kidneys are are needed to keep your fabulous brain stuffed with all that knowledge. Smile
04-27-05, 09:48 PM Kelleygirl Glad to see that you've returned, DG. You know what they say -- "you can't keep a good dork down". Wink
04-28-05, 03:42 AM Leppi Hey DG, glad to know your feeling better. I have to admit (well confess) that for a minute (okay maybe a bit more) ya had me a bit (well more then a bit) worried. I'm glad to know that things are going better now and I hope that they continue in that direction. e-hugs and well wishes being sent in your direction.
04-28-05, 07:51 AM Karrow The peace is shattered! Roll Eyes Welcome home DG. Big Grin
04-28-05, 08:07 AM VelvetVoice Welcome home DG! I guess you could say the same for me. I missed you. I bet it was because I said a prayer over the jazz saxophone yesterday. Blessings to you.
04-28-05, 02:53 PM Georgia85 Wait a minute...in order to have cardiac problems doesn't one need to have a heart?.... Wink
Heck, you're back and you're alive so I'm joking with ya again! Glad you're out of the hospital.
05-11-05, 11:30 AM coldfuse I feel awful not knowing about this or responding previously. However, there is nothing like hearing a problem is fixed when you discover it!
May your pipes outlast those on a Rolls Royce Smile
05-11-05, 12:40 PM DorianGreyed Don't feel bad, Fuse. I had it for years and didn't notice it. It was only when the condition started interfering with my breathing and my weight* approached Brandoesque and Wellesian numbers that I thought I should have it looked at. Roll Eyes
* Since April 20, when I went in, I have lost over 50 pounds. Pants that were too tight are now too big to wear.
05-12-05, 05:06 PM psych major DG........for everybody's sake.........please keep your pants pulled up Roll Eyes
05-21-05, 10:45 PM DorianGreyed I thought I may as well keep you informed about my weight loss. As of last Thursday, I have lost at least 65 pounds. (Yes, that is a six followed by a five, and I have always been accurate about my weight.)
(And yes, Clare, the nurse gave me the message.)
" What did he say when they asked him his religion?" - tsaeb I was raised Roman Catholic, but now belong to the Eastern Orthodox faith. Most of the members of my church have Macedonian ancestry, and the Liturgy is conducted in Church Slavonic, which is almost identical to Old Macedonian, so I actually understand some of it. (But I am still a Blessed Swami.)
Georgia, I do so have a heart, the heart of a young man. I keep it in a jar in my refrigerator, next to the Kalamata olives and goat cheese.
05-22-05, 03:56 AM psych major DG.........65 pounds!!!!!!!!! are you serious??
There are so many things I could say right now, but I will refrain........for now that is Wink
05-23-05, 02:29 PM Georgia85 DG, I too have a heart in my refrigerator. Mine is in a Mason jar on the bottom shelf. Glad to know I'm not the only one with bizarre things in my fridge Big Grin yeah, for those of you who don't believe me, come and look in it!
05-24-05, 03:16 AM tsaeb The looks of this thread, Georgia85's refrigerator, and my refrigerator have just confirmed that I am sane.
06-09-05, 08:56 PM nerdqueendeluxe Good to hear that you are doing well, Deeg! And a 65 pound loss...got yer girlish figure back, eh?
Seriously, I hate for bad things to happen to you. You are a good friend. Take care of you.
06-10-05, 12:31 PM DorianGreyed Thanks, Q, I fully intend to do exactly that. I am holding my weight loss, and will undoubtedly lose more over the summer; the cardiologist gave me the OK to do light weight-lifting if I also do some walking. I just may get that girlish figure yet. (Roll Eyes)
Thank you all for your thoughs, prayers, and wishes. It meant more to me than I ever would have realized. We really are a community.
06-10-05, 01:30 PM DvdGStwrt Take it slowly, don't hold your breath eitherWink you need that Oxygen when you exercise.
06-10-05, 03:24 PM DorianGreyed Thanks, David, I intend to. Over the years, I've grown very fond of breathing. Big Grin
But you are right, and I know that I had the habit of holding my breath when lifting years ago when I did it religiously.
