is it right or wrong?!
e.g
2/5+7/12 first:
multiply the first fraction's dinominator with the second fraction's numerator:5*7=35
second:
multiply the first fraction's numerator with the second fraction's dinominator:2*12=24
third:
multiply all dinominators: 5*12=60
fourth:
add the two answers( the first and second): 35+24=59
fifth:
put the answer in the fourth step in the numerator of the new fraction and the answer in the third step in the dinominator of the new fraction: 59/60
****In subtracting you can make the same but you must put the bigger number of the first and second at the end: 2/5-7/12=
2*12=24
-7*5=-35
-35+24=-11
the dinominator will be : 5*12=60
the subtraction of the two fractions is equal to -11/60

That's right, but I don't agree with the statement that: "you must put the bigger number at the end". You could have a subtraction problem stated either way. In the first case the answer would be -11/60, but in the case of 7/12 - 2/5 =? the answer would be 11/60 (a positive quantity). 4-2=2, and 2-4=-2! And welcome to AnswerPool.
