Has anyone tried Wendy's new summer salads? I don't usually go to fast food places and pay for a bowl of lettuce and rubber meat, but this salad was a nice surprise. Anyway it didn't come with any choice of dressing, just their vinigarette, (with honey roasted pecans - yummy!) and I was wondering if anyone could duplicate their recipe. and how DO you spell vinigarette? -------------------- cswchan....06-26-02, 11:22 PM Can't say I've tried the salad in question from Wendy's, but, I have one that I make & it's pretty tasty.... here it is....
Spinach Salad With Glazed Pecans
Ingredients: 1 ½ cup Pecan Halves 2 tbsp Salted Butter 1 tbsp Honey 2.5 lb bag Washed spinach (or fresh – this tastes better) 1 Red onion (thinly sliced into rounds) 2 Avocados, peeled and diced 3 Oranges, peeled and cut into segments Red wine balsamic dressing
Cooking: Glaze pecans (to glaze pecans, heat butter and honey together. Stir in pecans. Spread on a cookie sheet and bake at 160 C (325 F) for 15 minutes, stirring several times. Cool and store in an airtight container until needed) To assemble the salad, mix spinach, onion, avocado and oranges. Just before serving, add balsamic dressing to taste and sprinkle with pecans. cool 06-27-02, 05:22 PM skrip Thanks for the recipe!! It sounds so yummy I'm going to make it tomorrow!
