I have had a problem for some time now with allegies, I think.
For the past couple of months, everytime I wake up in the morning, but only when I first wake up, I begin to sneeze violently. It's as if I'm inhaling something in the night that needs to be expelled as soon as I wake up.
After my sneezing fit is over, I'm fine for the rest of the day.
I tried going on WebMd for my problem but I couldn't find a specific topic to post in.

I would appreciate any help or suggestions someone can give me. This is driving me crazy!

This has just started happening? Are you using a new pillow? I know some are filled with feathers and will cause a sneezing fit if you are allegic. If you have washed your sheets in a new detergent, that also could cause a reaction. Have you been sleeping with a window open? Allergens from outside could be coming in.

From your description it does sound like there is some new allergen present. If nothing has changed in your surroundings then it could simply be a seasonal allergy. An allergist could help you determine the cause and then prescribe non-drowsy anti-histamines for the sneezing or even recommend you use an anti-histamine nasal spray.

My mom used to wake up every morning and sneeze. I mean really sneeze like 20 to 30 times in a row, hard. Her doctor couldn't figure out why. Nothing new had been introduced. She just woke up one day and it started. This continued on for more than a year and then finally stopped.

The reason it stopped? Well, we think it had something to do with smoking. She had quit a week before. Now that she has started up again, the sneezes are back.

I don't know if you smoke or not, but if you do maybe this is what is causing your sneezes.

I used to sneeze a lot in the mornings -not twenty or thirty times, but a number of times. I'm sure it was pollen and dander and who knows what else that floated up in my nose through the night. Then I started taking Drixoral Cold & Allergy, and haven't had a sneezing fit in a long time.
I take a pill every morning. If you start taking it, or any medication, and it works for you, be sure to talk to your doctor about how often you should use it.
Here is some information about Allergy questions and about Allergic Rhinitis which might help.

Good luck!
