In December I moved into a new mobile home. By January I was suffering with a variety of ailments related to sinus and bronchitis, and I'm not much better now than I was then, in spite of several antibiotic prescriptions. X rays indicate that I am still in trouble. I can't get away from the trailer at this point. I'm retired and living in a rural area. The manufacturer included a big, bold "Health Notice" warning about formaldehyde from some of the materials used, but by the time I found it in a kitchen drawer, it was too late to be any help to me. I'm a bit ticked that the dealer failed to mention anything to me about it.

Any idea how long before the fumes dissipate, and what measures might be available for relief from my discomfort? I'm airing out the trailer whenever the weather permits. I don't really smell the stuff any longer, but other people comment on it as soon as they come inside, so it's still here - going on four months. Thanks.

Call a company that cleans homes after fires, and see what they can do. You may have to live in a motel for a night or two, but if that solves the problem, surely it's worth it.

Call your county health department. You should be able to find the number in the phone book. Interior air pollution is something they can likely help you address.

Health of seniors living in any area is a priority for most health department so I hope you will find some assistance.
