Keeping your parakeets wings clipped is for training purposes. A parakeet that can fly is an independent bird. Bring your parakeet to the vet or a pet store that is familar with how to clip wings, they will show you the proper way to clip them.

You might want to try this before u clip the wings:
Find out your budgies favourite food. Something that it really likes for example those sticks with seeds stuck on them with honey. And whenever you give it to him/her make sure u alway make the same noise for example whistle 3 times. -something that the bird can hear a bell or an alearm clock might not be a good idea because they ring at other times too -the noise should only be used as u give him the food. And eventually the bird will learn that that sound means delicious food and will maybe even come to u as its flying. Big Grin

I'm too jealous now! I have a love bird. These guys are smart. The problem is that they are so agressive you cannont handle them at all. I wont even try to touch this guy. I like my fingers the way the are, in one piece. He loves for me to talk to him and pay attention to him though. Funny.

I'm sorry that I can't answer your question. If my bird were so well behaved that you could just touch him, I would be very happy about that.
