is it possible for a Budgier to kill another Budgier?? i had two of them, and it seemed like they were getting along (i bought a second one to keep my first one company) and then they started to bicker a bit...i think my first budgier may have killed the second one...but i myself always thought they were social creatures, and liked to be with others of their kind...or maybe mine's just an introvert.

What sex were both your birds? (male budgies have blue noses, female budgies have pink/flesh colored noses) Sometimes birds of the same sex will bicker, and as devastating as it may be, it's not uncommon for any kind of birds to kill each other in fights. In the future, keep your birds in seperate cages.

Yes it is possible for parakeets to kill each other...

Females tend to be a lot meaner - Most people say not to put the same sexed birds together esp. females as they will probably fight most of the time.. But then I have one parakeet (a female) that will not tolerate male or female in her cage. So she has her own little palace. The rest of my birds have their own cages and most get along very well but they were introduced slowly as well.

If you do not have the time to give attention to your little friend it could be a good idea to get a bird friend BUT keep it in a seperate cage and not near by... after a while move the cage closer and closer a little at a time. There will be no hostility over sharing a favorite toy or the food or water. Let them get used to each other a little at a time and eventually let them out together (assuming your let your keet out to play) It is always a good idea to keep a new bird quarintined for atleast a month to make sure it is not bringing an illness in to your home.
