Today my female cockatiel escaped outside and flew away, and despite our best efforts to locate her, she hasn't been found. What's worse is that she was a nesting mother sitting on 4 eggs. Will my male, who is sitting on them now, continue to take care of the eggs alone if she doesn't return, or will he abandon them? What's the best action to take and does anyone have any tips on how to catch my female? I left her cage and food outside, and we left fliers in everyone's mailbox. Thanks!

From accounts, the male may continue to sit the eggs, reposition them, etc.

If the male did not fertilize them, they will be like chicken eggs.. layed but infertile and won't hatch.
