I've noticed that our bird bath attracts all sorts of birds, but one in particular seems to be a bit different from the rest. I watched one robin take five baths in a row before flying off. It was already in the bath splashing around when I noticed it, so it may have been more than five. Maybe it was just hot and wanted to cool off, but it sure did look like it was enjoying the water! Between splashing around it hopped on the rim amd fluffed and preened - then back into the pool. I was sort of surprised that it could still fly after soaking itself as thoroughly as it did. Anyone else ever notice anything like this?

I've noticed some birds like to take baths more than others. Maybe this bird was having a stressed out day. Water is known to soothe lots of people. It can sometimes soothe other animals' nerves too!

Perhaps this robin had some sort of body mites...That would explain the odd bathing behaviour.
